"The pole dance classes became a turning point in my attitude to the exercise. I used to be bored at a gym and find any excuse to skip a workout or make I shorter. After I started pole dance classes it all magically changed - boring push ups became a tool that eventually will allow my stronger arms to pull myself on the pole into a gracious pose instead of just hanging there. I never skip stretching any more as I know how nicer my jump will look if I work on it. Never liked crunches – but with an image of me being eventually able to perform that upside down pose on the pole it is never a problem to do one more set.
I find it very rewarding that your efforts pay off at every class – it’s great to see how you can do the moves a little easier, muscles are not as painful any more and suddenly you focus on the music instead of just moves. Yet it is ever challenging – there is always something else to learn! It is a full body workout without being in a sweaty gym with loud music and noise of weights, it is an art and something not too many people can do and I love belonging to the group of those who can, it is actually the whole new world of grace and beauty."
